Elementary Virtual Summer School
Instructor: Michele Frossard-Elementary Technology Integration Specialist

Avon Community School Corporation realizes that summer time poses a risk for some students to lose up to three months of valuable skills that were mastered during the school year.  For this reason, the district has designed this page to support summer academic progress through the use of a variety of online resources and grade level appropriate skills packets.

DESTINATION SUCCESS ONLINE ASSIGNMENTS
All elementary students should have received their Destination Success Username (student id) and password (avon) to access an online summ Virtual Summer School ELA and Math Pretests between June 7 and August 19.  Once your child complete the pretests, (s)he will automatically be prescribed online activities based on their performance.

If your elementary child did not receive this information or has Virtual Summer School Pretests available, please contact Mrs. Michele Frossard at mmfrossard@avon-schools.org.

All K-4 students still have online access to their previous year's content using their pearsonsuccessnet.com user id (student id) and password (student id) to access the online student textbook, visual animations, e-tools, and games.

PRINTABLE SUMMER SKILLS PACKETS
Another helpful resource below is the Summer Skills Packets folders, where parents of elementary students may choose the appropriate grade level packet of the grade just completed to download and print any or all of the pages provided that reinforce essential skills to make a smoother transition to the next grade.
In order to reduce the cost of textbook fees, the skills packets will not be printed for parents at the elementary levels. Instead, parents have the option of printing these using their own resources.  In addition, online assignments are available for all K-4 students with a high speed internet connection, to focus on math skills free of cost to parents.

GETTING READY...SUMMER READS
Don't miss the Indiana Department of Education's "Summer Reads," which include grade level reading material to prepare your child for his/her upcoming grade level.
